Already a favorite among Hollywood “It” girls, Zara Terez handbags are making their way to a Searle store near you!
These eye-catching bags will definitely turn heads with their eclectic mix of textures and thoughtfully placed details. Even the lining is equally eye-catching, featuring whimsical prints that are just as stunning as the exterior! We are smitten with the 108th street embossed croc envelope clutch (available in cognac, navy, and grey). The supple leather melts in your hand and the beautiful silhouette is timeless.
A third-generation designer, Zara draws inspiration from her parents, who own a successful apparel business, and her Great-Aunt, Ruth Saltz, also a handbag designer. New York is the driving influence behind each design, from Zara’s surfer-chic Atlantic Beach hometown to her current home in Manhattan, each style in the collection pays homage to a different neighborhood of NYC’s five boroughs.
With the revolving door of fashion trends that are hot one minute and then out the next, one thing always remains the same—the need for basic t’s! You can never have too many of these hanging in your closet. Now, the hard part is finding high-quality basics that fit, flatter, and are comfortable and can be worn anytime and anywhere. Well, dear readers, the search is finally over! We’ve discovered a fabulous line of luxury tees called BeClassic which offers classic tees in five different colors, five styles and four sizes. They are timeless, elegant, and so sophisticated!
Founder, designer, and CEO, Stacey Alvarez, launched BeClassics after her own unsuccessful quest of finding the perfect luxury tee. It suddenly dawned on her that she should create and design her own tees. She took her pencil to paper, and in that moment, BeClassic was born. For the next two years, Stacey worked out her design in Paris and found the right manufacturing team in Turkey. The perfect tee had arrived and it will soon be arriving in Searle stores!
Finding the perfect evening bag for a night out can be process, but it doesn’t have to be with these Jalda clutches! The fall styles are just about to hit Searle stores, and we want to scoop up one of each in every color.
JALDA (pronounced YALDA) handbags are designed by Dutch designer Jalda Hoff, and are hand made in Los Angeles out of the finest and most unique Italian leathers and hardware.
The story behind Jalda’s handbag collection is a unique one: She began her career working in the corporate world working for the likes of McKinsey & Co. and Mattel. Although successful, she felt that her job was lacking creativity. Jalda aspired to combine what she had learned in the corporate world with her love for all things fashion and design. One day, her brothers’ bride-to-be asked Jalda to design a bag for her wedding. The reaction was so positive that she began creating handbags for her friends and family from a variety of colorful and unique leathers. Soon after, her collection of fun, fashionable handbags and clutches for every occasion was born!
When it comes to finely tailored, sophisticated woman’s shirts, no one does it better than Paperwhite! Paperwhite’s timeless and high quality shirts are demure enough to be deemed workplace-appropriate, but will easily take you to the evening hours with the right mix of accessories. If you’re anything like us, you’ll rejoice at the fact that many of their shirts are made with a patented process yielding shirts that emerge from the laundry looking crisp and fresh (so that means you can skip the dry cleaner and iron!) As much as I love summer, I have to face the fact that the season is winding down and fall is on the horizon. With the changing leaves and lower temps, there’s nothing better than snuggling up in a cozy knit sweater, especially if it’s a Yoon NYC design! Searle is proud to introduce a brand new contemporary knitwear line to our stores: Yoon NYC! One look at their fall collection, and we were instantly smitten with their over-sized cardigans, chunky knits, and plush cashmere sweaters.
Yoon began as a joint venture between 2 families from NYC and Dalian, China. Each family ran separate knitwear businesses in their respective countries, however, one day they decided to join forces, and thus, Yoon was born! Together, Kacie Schiffer, the VP of Merchandising, and Stacey Kim, the Design Director, have combined their experience working on the runways of Japan, Europe and U.S. as well as major U.S. and Korean knitwear firms respectively, to create a fresh, contemporary collection for the fashion forward woman.
We can’t wait until these items hit Searle stores in a couple days!

There have been so many designer additions to our stores at Searle that it is hard to keep up! We’re super excited to be getting in beautiful knitwear from J’envie! The collection just hit Searle stores so you must check it out!
Here’s a little history behind the brand: J’envie was founded by Eli Goldstein in 1978 based on his desire to create a company that produced top quality basic items that fit well, and were comfortable. The brand offers knits, wovens, and separates—all of which are proudly made in the U.S.A.! Each of their pieces is crafted from unique fabrics that are imported from Europe and Japan and are specifically designed for their collection.
As the company continued to grow and succeed, Eli’s daughter, Linda, soon joined the team and together they came up with a simple formula that helps them design for today’s woman and sets them apart from the others: she wants to look modern, updated, and stylish, reflecting all of the latest fashion trends, but she still wants her clothing to be comfortable and have exceptional fit.
Here’s a peek at a jacket we are crazy about! There is beautiful, feminine detailing all along the front and it fits wonderfully!!
“I started Searle with my two hands. I learned to make a pattern, I learned how to cut — I nearly cut my fingers off — but there is almost nothing I have not done in this business.”— Head Honcho, Searle “Steve” Blatt
A new clothing line has surfaced in the fashion world and we have enthusiastically grabbed up this brand to sell at Searle!! This is not in stores yet but will be any day now. In order to keep you satisfied until the items come in, here is a little extra information about this brand that you will soon come to adore!
Love Token is a fresh new line of women’s contemporary clothing that was started by Zak Far in 2010. Already known among industry leaders for his co-ownership of Dolce Cabo, a line of European inspired knits which continues to be featured by big name retailers and the Home Shopping Network, Zak Far is no stranger to the fashion world. Far and his design team take pride in the fact that they focus on the fabrics of their garments, creating sumptuous fabrications that are charming on any woman.
These must-have pieces are neither too conservative, nor too revealing and can be styled to be worn by any Searle customer. Now that you’ve had a sneak peek at this hot new brand, check the Searle website or the stores to find these cozy sweaters plus much more!!
Reginald F. Lewis was the first African American to build a billion dollar company, TLC Beatrice. In his honor, the Reginald F. Lewis Foundation Gala Luncheon is held annually as a fundraiser for the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History and Culture. In attendance at this event was the daughter of the late Lewis, actress/author Leslie Lewis Sword, who looked fabulous in one of our favorite Searle designs!!
Leslie is pictured with her step mother, Loida Nicolas Lewis and Star Jones at the event. She is also shown escorting Professor Frank E. A. Sander, a Harvard Law professor and the Millennium Member Award honoree at the luncheon.
We love how Leslie styled her One Shoulder Striped Dress with a sleek red clutch and simple nude heels. The dress fits her like a glove and accentuates her killer physique! What do you think?
Leslie Lewis Sword wore it with elegance and you can too! Find this Searle dress here.
This is the final week of the Alexander McQueen exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art!! After extending the dates of Savage Beauty, the Museum has also extended their hours for the last week of this exhibit. Over this past weekend the visitors to the exhibit has broken the record for visitors to a fashion exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art!

If you happen to be a lucky member of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, then take advantage of the special hours available: this week from 8:30am until 9:30am there is a private viewing time.
Those of you who have not had the opportunity to see Savage Beauty must go this week, before it is gone! Read what we had to say about the exhibit earlier this summer. However, be prepared for lines because there has been an “unprecedented interest in this landmark retrospective” The exhibit will be available for viewing to the public the following times:
We love bragging about our newest designers at Searle! Today, we’re rolling out the red carpet for Camille Zarsky. Her luxe leather and python handbags are simply stunning. Take a look at these exotic python clutches in the fall collection. We can’t wait to get our hands on one!
These Monte Carlo Python Clutches also come in “Mini” sizes, which are perfect for carrying for a night out on the town.
As a traveler, Zarsky has a love for exotic skins, which is evident in her designs. The beautifully articulated collection fuses inspiration from her travels as a fashion stylist with her artistic childhood roots growing up in the Lone Star State. What makes her collection so remarkable is her dedication to using ethically sourced skins and producing her handbags locally in NYC. Her flawless fall collection is mind-blowing and features structured bags that are not just beautiful pieces to admire—they are also very practical. There is a detachable shoulder strap and unlike all stylish clutches, there is plenty of room on the inside for all of your essentials.
Now that you’ve had a taste of this gorgeous line, can’t you see why we are so excited?

It’s no secret that we are huge fans of Rebecca Minkoff’s designs! Her rocker-chic handbags have always been a favorite at Searle, and she continues to roll out fresh new designs that we can’t get enough of. Just like her handbags, Rebecca gracefully blends edgy styles with classic staples. The rich colors and patterns used in her new fall line embody fall fashion and are absolutely irresistible. We simply adore the the Moto Jacket, which provides a new spin on the classic leather motorcycle jacket with its mash-up of cotton and buttery soft lambskin. Another item that we’re over the moon for is the Quilted Leather Purse, which is uber-chic and very Chanel-esque.
Check out Rebecca Minkoff’s fall 2011 Collection here and check our website regularly as we are alway getting in new Rebecca Minkoff items!!
Delman’s Siena Asymmetrical Slingback Pumps have just been marked down!! These elegant calfskin pumps have a little kitten heel and have an asymmetrical shape in the front.
These glamorous pumps are the shoe of the season! They’re an essential for every shoe lover. You won’t believe the deal you’ll get if you buy them from Searle!! Originally $250, they’re on sale for just $99
Here’s a fact about Searle that you may not know, many of the Searle designs you love so much are designed and produced right here in our very own factory in Long Island City, New York! This enables us to maintain the quality we demand while always staying on trend. We can turn the factory on a dime to change direction if the fashion winds change. Head Honcho, Searle “Steve” Blatt, definitely uses this to his advantage.
There are so many amazing things about this system. Most notably, Steve can arrive in the morning, draw up a sketch, and have a sample by noon.
Now that we’ve piqued your curiosity about the process, here’s the series of events that go into making a garment. Steve collaborates with Bess, the production manager, on a design. Steve then sketches up a lovely idea and discusses his vision with Josephine, our wonderful pattern maker.
Josephine first creates a muslin, as seen above. A muslin is a plain canvas version of the garment. It is draped, altered, perfected and taken apart before the paper pattern is created. The paper pattern is then placed against the fabric and cut on the cutting table. When finished, each pattern is stored and can be referred to for inspiration or to make the garment again.
The garment pieces are then taken to the seamstresses and voila! Within this building, a garment has been made and if needed, there can be an abundance recreated.
"I am an anomaly," Steve said. An operation such as ours is extremely rare these days in America. It has been how Searle operated since the beginning and we will continue to create our clothes with the ministration that only this structure provides.
Searle was one of the very first stores that picked up Botkier when they first began. The Trigger bag was a huge success and everyone came to Searle to buy this must-have bag. Now, history is repeating itself! Botkier has revamped the Trigger bag and once again, it is selling at Searle!! This certainly solidifies the Trigger bag as a classic handbag and we couldn’t be more enthusiastic about having Botkier at Searle!! This bag in particular caught our eye in this very popular color…
How can you resist such a rich color? This Trigger bag is designed for real women and it is a proven classic!
Helios&Luna is in stores now! This may be a new brand to some of you, but it is one you will come to know very well because of the easy elegance designed into everything Helios&Luna creates. You’ll be back to Searle over and over again to shop this wonderful brand!
Helios&Luna design their dresses and tops with functionality in mind. The front of these garments have beautiful detailing such as ruffles and tiers, but the back of the garment does not have any extra flair so that you can easily slide on a jacket, as you can see on the Multi-Tiered Day Dress. It looks fabulous on its own, but adding the Jacquard Jacket is simple since there is nothing on the back of the dress that could potentially bulk up underneath the jacket
Riki Rosetta purses are classic style bags that demand attention. They are all structured bags, which is this season’s trend in purses. The bags have a crocodile look, but an embossing process is used, making them reasonably priced for such a beautiful bag with amazing detailing.
This bag is so perfect, Leighton Meester was spotted with the embossed leather tote!! Leighton carries in in orange ostrich with the extra chain strap detached.
Just in: colorful Desigual bangles!! These expressive bracelets can be thrown on along with other wrist wear and add quite a pop to your ensemble! Like wearing confetti all day long, these bangles can also be a great gift. This bangle in particular looks great stacked! More styles can be found at Searle stores.
These bracelets are in Searle stores now, so find your closest store here!

Here you can enjoy the sun for as long as you can take it, then cool off in the water. Check out some local areas to get the full experience of your trip. I would suggest finding a place inside that doesn’t use the air conditioning sparingly!
